HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - When Waiahole Elementary School was founded in 1883, Hawaii was still a sovereign kingdom under the reign of King David Kalakaua.
Today, it’s one of Hawaii’s oldest public schools and caters to a large number of native Hawaiian keiki.
Principal Alexandra Obra and parent Danny Cassler joined HNN’s Sunrise Weekends to talk about the school’s 140th anniversary fundraiser.
The free family-friendly event on March 9 included food trucks, live performances and a petting zoo.
Proceeds benefit students through school supplies, technology and field trips. Read the full article HERE.
